Description: Kentucky Walnut and Poplar Childs Chair, 19th Century; made in Poplar Creek (Whitley County) Kentucky; by oral history, these chairs were made by the grandfather of Judge Corey on a foot pumped lathe, from timber taken from their property. this ladderback style chair has two cross sections and is connected with a box style stretcher.
Condition: is good overall, the original split cane seat has been replaced. with traces of paint remaining.
